Shopping for Flowers The Week of Your Wedding

When it comes to planning your wedding, there are so many details to think about. Most are thought of months before the wedding, but sometimes its not until the week of (or even the day of) you start to notice other little things you may need!

When it comes to flowers, we always recommend to order well in advance if you would like your bouquets, boutonnieres etc. to be made by a florist. If you are thinking of getting wholesale flowers, we suggest to get majority of your flowers pre ordered and then shop for the rest of your order in our wholesale cooler the week of your event.

(Check out our blog post How to Make a Floral Centrepiece for more tips.)

The week of your wedding is when all the details start to come together and last minute decisions are made. This is a great time for you to come in and shop in our wholesale cooler for locally grown flowers for all those places you may not have thought about before.

For example, your guestbook table, registry signing table, your cake table and washrooms are great places to put a little bud vase or a vase full of fresh flowers!

There will always be someone at our wholesale cooler that will be happy to help you with any questions you may have, to give you ideas and suggestions to work within your budget.

on how to stay in budget!)

If you wanted flowers for your cake, washrooms, signing table, and guestbook table, I would suggest two bunches of spray mums, 1 dozen roses, one bunch of boxwood, 2 bunches of alstroemeria and 2 bunches stocks at the least... and all of this would come to around $75.

You could do as much or as little as you would like to make your arrangements more opulent or simple. It really all comes down to what your style and budget is.

Then, with everything in buckets of water and stored in a cool place, make sure you give yourself lots of time to arrange everything. When it comes to flowers, you will need to start a few days before the wedding to make sure everything is nice and fresh. Dont be afraid to ask your loved ones for help, it can be fun evening with friends and family leading up to your special day!

Just make sure to clean all the lower leaves off each flower to keep them fresh, cut each stem to the desired length and have fun putting your arrangements together!
